What exactly is ARTŪ?
ARTŪ stands for Active Release Techniques. It is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.
Sessions are short and focused on a particular problem area with the client clothed the entire time.
What should I bring to my session?
Clients typically bring athletic gear (running shorts, tank tops, sports bras), Clothing that is comfortable to move around in and in which you are comfortable having your musculature exposed.
How many sessions will I need?
I typically recommend individuals commit to receiving a series of sessions to begin with. For ARTŪ sessions, this is usually two short sessions per week, with a few days in between. If you are dealing with either chronic or acute pain, it may take a few sessions to get you to a state of lasting relief and improved functionality. Three sessions is a good indicator of whether or not we are moving in the right direction, as well as how the work is integrating in your body.
What forms of payment do you accept?
